TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT APPROACHES

The most important milestone in AKSA's thirty year "Quality Management Journey" has been the Total Quality Management approach.

AKSA's desired mission is not only to satisfy customer requirements but also to satisfy employee needs. AKSA raises employee consciousness of Quality Assurance System and also develops the system with the support of "Quality and Total Quality" trainings given by KalDer(Turkish Society for Quality). By establishing an Individual Proposal Improvement System and Quality Circle activities, AKSA enables its employees to participate in all processes as individuals and as team participants.

AKSA improved its Total Quality Management activity background by becoming a member of the European Foundation for Quality Management [EFQM] in 1997. AKSA has a Total Quality Management Steering Committee and Assessment Teams for applying EFQM Business Excellence Models. The steering committee and assessment teams have already accomplished their first self-assessment; the second self-assessment will be performed in 2001.

Our directors have been members of KalDer (Turkish Society for Quality) since 1992. AKSA has been a supporter of the National Quality Movement since 1998; AKSA was also one of the proud sponsors of the 9th National Quality Congress and European Foundation for Quality Management Forum held in Istanbul in the year 2000.
