Mithra: Türkiye's First Domestic UHMWPE Fiber

Developed by Aksa Akrilik, Mithra represents a first in Türkiye in the production of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber and unidirectional (UD) ballistic fabric. Standing out with its domestic and high-performance structure, Mithra is designed to offer strategic solutions in many critical areas, particularly the defense industry.

Thanks to its high strength, lightness, and environmental resistance, it offers a wide range of applications, from bulletproof vests to armored vehicle panels, heavy-duty ropes to ballistic composite systems. With a structure that is up to 15 times stronger and 10 times lighter than steel, Mithra plays a pioneering role in next-generation protection technologies.

Launched in 2024, the investment transforms Aksa Acrylic's years of experience in chemical and fiber production into a strategic production force for the defense industry. The production line, which will initially operate at an annual capacity of 250 tons, is planned to reach a capacity of 500 tons/year in the future.
